Getting started
What do I need to run Blank?
Blank requires macOS 26 or later. Use the official download on this website; the button below reflects its current availability.

How do I fill and save a form?
Open or drop a PDF into Blank, then open a page to start filling. Existing fields are ready to use; suggested fields have dashed orange outlines. Use Add Text or Checkmark where you need a manual field. Your draft saves automatically.
Choose File → Export Editable PDF to save a copy with form fields, or File → Export Flattened PDF to make your answers and signature part of the page. Review the exported file before sending it.
What kind of signatures can I add?
Draw a signature, type one, or import an image and crop it. You can save it locally for reuse. These are visual signatures, not certificate-based digital signatures. Certificate-signed PDFs and documents that restrict editing open read-only.
Why can’t Blank find every field?
Detection works best with English labels, straight printed lines, and clear boxes. Skewed scans, handwriting, and unusual layouts may need corrections or manual fields. Try Form → Find Fields Again to repeat detection. Local recognition may take longer the first time macOS prepares it.
Documents and exports
Why does a PDF open read-only?
Certificate-signed PDFs, XFA forms, and documents that restrict editing open read-only. Ask the sender for an editable or unsigned copy if appropriate. Blank’s signatures are visual marks, not certificate-based digital signatures.
Why don’t calculations or formatting run?
Blank doesn’t run scripts embedded in PDFs. You can fill supported fields manually, but automatic calculations, validation, and formatting are not preserved in the exported copy. Check totals and required formats yourself.
My drag export didn’t work.
Some apps and websites don’t accept file drops. Export to a folder using File → Export Editable PDF, then select that file in the receiving app or website. A canceled or rejected drag doesn’t use a free document; an accepted drop does, even if a website’s later upload fails.
Can you recover my documents?
Blank keeps its workspace on your Mac; I don’t hold a cloud copy. Check File → Trash for removed workspace documents. Permanently deleted workspace copies cannot be restored through Blank. Keep your original files and a backup of your Mac.
Trials, purchases, and licenses
What counts toward the three-document trial?
A workspace document counts on its first successful PDF export. You can keep editing and re-exporting it. The allowance applies to your local macOS user.
The built-in sample is free unless you add pages or images from another file. Deleting a document does not restore a free use, and importing it again counts as a new document.
After three documents, you can still import files, edit, and save drafts. A license is needed to export another new document.
How do I activate or move my license?
After checkout, Dodo Payments emails your receipt and license key. Open Blank → Settings → License, paste the key, and choose Activate. There’s no Blank account to create. Returning from checkout alone doesn’t activate the app.
Each license allows two active Macs. To move it, choose Deactivate This Mac in Blank → Settings → License on your old Mac, then activate on the new one. If you can’t access the old Mac, use the merchant support details on your Dodo receipt for help.
Activation and periodic checks need an internet connection. After a successful check, paid use can continue offline for up to 30 days. If activation fails, check your connection and that you copied the key correctly, then contact me if you’re still stuck.
Where is my receipt, or how do I request a refund?
Check the inbox and spam folder for the email address used at checkout. For a missing receipt, lost key, device limit you can’t resolve, or refund request, email hello@tinyinternet.dev with the purchase email and order reference if available. Don’t include your full key. See the purchase terms for payment and refund details.
Privacy and preferences
You don’t need a Blank account. Your PDFs, profile, and reusable signatures are stored locally. Hosting, license checks, payments, and any support information you choose to send are covered in the privacy policy.
Usage analytics is optional. Change the app’s choice in Settings → Privacy, or use Privacy settings in this website’s footer. The choices are separate.
