- What do I need to run Blank?
- A Mac running macOS 26 or later. Blank is a native Mac app built with SwiftUI and PDFKit, with familiar controls and keyboard shortcuts. The public download is coming soon.
- Can I fill a scanned form?
- Yes. Blank uses on-device text recognition to find likely fields in scanned and hybrid PDFs. It works best with English labels and straight printed lines or boxes. You can review its suggestions, correct them, or add text and checkmarks yourself.
- Where are my documents stored?
- On your Mac, in Blank’s local app storage. Your documents, drafts, profile, and any signatures you choose to save stay there. There’s no account to create and no cloud service processing your files.
- Will Blank change my original PDF?
- Your original stays untouched. Blank keeps your edits in an autosaved draft and exports a separate PDF when you’re ready. Choose an editable export to keep working with form fields, or a flattened copy to make your entries part of the page.
- What kind of signatures can I add?
- Draw a signature, type one, or import an image and crop it. You can save it locally for reuse. These are visual signatures, not certificate-based digital signatures. Certificate-signed PDFs and documents that restrict editing open read-only.
