# PDF Form Filler for Mac — Blank

Blank is a standalone Mac app for filling and signing PDF forms, including scans. It requires macOS 26 or later. It keeps document processing on the Mac and saves a separate completed PDF without changing the original.

## Filling forms

- **Existing fields:** Click a field and type. Move through the form with Tab, choose dates, and check boxes.
- **Flat and scanned forms:** On-device recognition suggests likely fields. Review, correct, or dismiss those suggestions. Detection works best with English labels and straight printed lines or boxes; it can miss fields or need corrections.
- **Manual entries:** Add text or a checkmark where there is no field, then move or resize it to fit.

## Workflow

1. Open a PDF in Blank. Existing fields are ready to fill; likely blanks appear as suggestions.
2. Enter answers or review matches from your saved profile. Add a signature and check the completed form.
3. Export an editable or flattened PDF. The original stays unchanged, and the saved draft stays available in Blank.

Editable exports keep standard form fields editable. Flattened exports make the entries part of the page. Review the exported file before sending it.

## Saved details and signatures

Save your name, address, and other details in a local profile. Blank shows matching fields for you to review before filling them.

Draw or type a signature, or import an image and crop it. Save it locally for reuse. These signatures are visual marks, not certificate-based digital signatures.

## Local processing and offline use

Document processing, field recognition, drafts, profiles, and saved signatures stay on the Mac. There is no Blank account to create, and PDFs do not need to be uploaded to an online editor.

The free trial works locally. Paid use requires an internet connection for activation and periodic license checks through Dodo Payments. It works offline for up to 30 days after a successful license check.

## PDF compatibility

Blank does not support every PDF form. XFA forms, certificate-signed PDFs, and PDFs with editing restrictions open read-only. It does not run embedded scripts, automatic calculations, or validation. If a form requires those features, use the application its issuer recommends. Try your own form before purchasing.

## Preview and Blank

The Mac's Preview app can fill PDF fields, add text boxes, autofill contact information, and add signatures. If that meets your needs, you can keep using it.
